Attempts to "steal" an item from the targeted monster. Only items dropped by the monster can be stolen. A successful attempt will not affect what is dropped when the monster dies. After success, it is not possible to Steal again from the same monster. Boss-protocol monsters cannot be stolen from.

The formula for stealing is

AdjustedDropRatio = DropRatio * (6 * Skill level + (DEX - MonsterDEX)/2 + 4) %

  • DropRatio is the percent chance of a particular item being dropped. If the result of the steal check is lower than the AdjustedDropRatio for an item, then it is possible that item will be stolen.

  • Steal checks each item in the monster's loot table in order, stopping as soon as a successful check is made. This means that items near the end of the list are less likely to be stolen. For example, if the AdjustedDropRatio for the first item is 100%, none of the other items can ever be stolen.
  • Steal does not interact with things that give monsters a chance to drop additional items. For example, Mimic Card will not allow Old Blue Boxes to be stolen.
  • Cards can be stolen.
  • A message appears in chat when attempting to steal from a monster that has already been stolen from.
